History
San José State University's Pre-Physician Assistant Society was founded in Spring 2016. Meeting, workshops, and events officially started in Fall 2016. During this time, there were little to no resources on campus for students who were interested in becoming a physician assistant. Although physician assistants were beginning to emerge from society as one of the fastest growing health professions out there, many of the students and faculty did not know about it. The founding members started to ask other students to see if any of them would be interested in learning about this field, and they were! The first meeting had over 20 people, and by the end of the first semester we had reached over 60 members. From there, the organization continues to grow to what it is today.
